This looks like an interesting event tonight at Downstairs at Mother on Redchurch Street in East London. Basically a gang of street artists from across the globe were invited to a warehouse in Cambridge last summer to be creative. And now the best results of that meeting are going to be exhibited tonight..along with music by DJ Vadim. Among the artists are some familiar to Sao Paulo, such as Ciro Schu, Miss Van and Matheus Bailon who are either Brazilian or have painted in Sao Paulo regularly (See my photos below). Other artists involved are Alice Pasquini, LNY, Max ‘Ripo’ Rippon, Malarky, Mr Gauky, Mr Penfold, Pener, She One, Shery, The Yok and Richard Watkins. There is a promotional video for the night below.
Behind the event is the group Propa Stuff..which are described as follows on the Downstairs at Mother website:
“Propa Stuff is a bunch of artists and friends who get together to create work in a cool space. Its size and scope grows each time. It evolved rapidly, with more and more artists, different spaces – even hopping across seas to Los Angeles. In its third year, Propa stuff now have the biggest crew of international urban artists in the world today. These international artists collaborate in their own warehouse; a secret location in the British countryside. Propa Stuff is a platform for international urban artists to collaborate. Its main mission is to make urban art the most popular, powerful and accessible art form in the world, while also making the streets – which serve as inspiration and canvas – a safer place by supporting homeless charities”
