One of the biggest names currently on the Sao Paulo street art scene, Hamilton Yokota, better known as Titi Freak, is exhibiting for the first time in the marvelous city – Rio de Janeiro, at Galeria Homegrown. His exhibition ‘My Town My Tags’ kicks off tomorrow (Thursday, April 17) and features prints which trace his career from 2005 until the present day.
The name of the show ‘My Town My Tags’ is very similar to the recent campaign Titi Freak has been doing for the sneaker brand Onitsuka Tiger called ‘My Town My Tracks’ and the exhibition also has Onitsuka Tiger as one of the sponsors. You can watch the ‘My Town My Tracks’ video embedded below, along with some of my own captures of Titi Freak’s works out on the streets.. The black and white piece is actually a recent piece but a reference to his first ever print done back in 2005, which he painted for the recent Expo Gravuras exhibition at A7MA in Sao Paulo.
WHERE: Galeria Homegrown, Rua Maria Quitéria 68 – 201 Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
WHEN: Opening on April 17 (18H-22H)
