On Saturday there is a double whammy of exhibitions at Galeria Logo, in Pinheiros. Logo is an excellent little space which always seems to have interesting events and exhibitions taking place.
First there is AUTOCONTROLE (Self-Control) an exhibition of photographs and videos by Fabiano Rodrigues that he has been producing since 2010, exploring his own body, usually in movement, in relation to urban landscapes. Fabiano Rodrigues is an ex-professional skateboarder, and the photos capture him performing tricks in normally pre-planned locations, sometimes in harmony with the landscape and sometimes not. Basically think skateboarding meets art in black and white photography. I have been a skateboard enthusiast since my younger days, and still love to watch and see pictures of people skating…so this looks like an interesting exhibition to me. Check out the video flyer below.
Secondly, Carlos Dias, the artist from Porto Alegre will also be exhibiting his work in the exhibition entitled ACESSOS (access). Carlos Dias is well known on the independent rock music circuits in Sao Paulo, where he began making flyers and tape covers, zines and stickers. His paintings are easily recognizable (see right) and besides the canvas paintings, he has also painted on the streets of Sao Paulo.
Check out the video flyer below.
Both exhibitions will run parallel at the same location and dates.
