There are no shortage of new exhibitions this week in Sao Paulo, along with the Bienal and Made by Brazilians the city is absolutely teeming with art. Choque Cultural also has a new exhibition, this time it is Daniel Melim who is back again for the fifth time at Galeria Choque Cultural. Melim is a stencil artist who has been doing it for a long time, and has painted alongside Banksy at the Cans Festival in London (see my Picture below – from 2008).
In this exhibition Daniel Melim will show large paintings up-to 5 meters in diameter. Melim is of course well known for his large murals, as his Roy Lichenstein inspired stencil on the side of a building in front of the Pinocoteca gallery at Luz station is one of the largest (I somehow can’t find a photo of it anywhere in my archives, so you’ll have to go and check it out yourselves)
